Baby, it was Cold Outside
I had a sewing emergency this week. I looked down and saw lint being pulled up by the needle. I have been working on a minky quilt, so I took off the the throat plate and cleaned out the lint...there was a bunch of it. I put the plate back on and my machine wouldn't work.
So, I got out my old machine. I love this machine. I also struggled with it. It doesn't have an automatic threader, a botton that I push and it cuts the threads, an automatic pressure foot raiser or needle down. Geez, have I gotten lazy. Thank heavens Wes fixed the other machine.
I started and finished a give away quilt. I had been craving some hand work time. I pieced the batting and I cut my scrap minky in two and ended up sewing them together by hand, plus sewing the binding on. It felt good.
I am just 6 blocks away from fishing my minky quilt. I should have another quilt to bind this week.
I finished week two of my Lori Holt quilt.
395 1 inch by 1 1/2 inch Flying Geese. They are not trimmed. I am still scared of week 3.
I also decided that I needed to make a couple more of this quilt. 1
When I went Sallies Back Porch Quilts to buy more fabric, found a beaut town minky to back the one that is done. I took all that was left and hope I can use it on two of them.
Good week to stay inside and quilt. It was cold and foggy. Good colors for my temperature quilt.
Love to sew...
A needle in my hand and a mug of hot chocolate do wonders for the soul...
