Handmade for the Holidays

We went to visit my son and daughter in law before the big day.
My smart little daughter in law made this cute little wall hanging.
Not only did she make it, but she created it.
Needless to say, I was impressed.

The letters were made with coffee filters glued to cardboard.
Wow! what a great idea.
She also mentioned that it took some planing to make her wreath look random.
Boy, do I know that feeling.

This little family might stand a chance with me, so I took a couple of pictures for next year.
The sign was also hand made with vinyl letters.

The truth is, the best things in life are handmade.
God bless you and have a Merry Christmas!

Surprise

Sometimes I feel like I have the best friends in the world.
This showed up on my doorstep today.
I love it!
Thank you Liz, you know how to brighten my day.

Christmas Tree Skirts

One of my favorite projects was this Christmas Tree skirt.
I made it many years ago, when I first started quilting.
I made one for my mother too.

My point?
I have never been able to find the pattern.
I know it was in a book, but I can never seem to find it.
I would like to make one for my kids.

I finished this little quilt for my grand daughter.
I think she will like it.
Also, look how green the grass is.
It has been so warm here...not complaining.

Sewing on a Button Lesson

One of the ladies that I work with asked if I would teach her how to sew on a button.
I said it would be no problem,
Then she picked up a pencil and paper and asked,
"What am I going to need to purchase?"

Well, long story short, I told her I would bring the stuff.
It blows my mind to think of a home without a needle and thread.
It also made me smile.

We had a good lesson.

I also finished my little wall hanging.

Didn't make It

My grand daughter asked for a quilt for her American girl doll. I just didn't get it done in time to mail, but she will be happy with it...
