When You're Sewing You're Happy

I love this little quilt.

I finished one of the quilts from my basting party.
It kinda makes you dizzy.

I also finished this one.
I am hoping to get it to the fair.

I am trying to finish one more for the fair..
I'm working on the binding.
There is always something to do.

I went to visit my friend Dixie yesterday
and I was so happy to see that she had been sewing.
Maybe I believe that
When you're sewing you're happy.

Sandwich Party

I got this little quilt all put together.
The quilting on this needs to be discrete...
maybe stitch in the ditch.

So I got set up outside and started a basting party.

1.  A little dalmatian or Pongo quilt for my toddler bed.

2.  This very cute music quilt.

3.  This memory quilt for my son.
The fabric is from pj shorts I used to make the kids.

4. Please let this be quilted and out the front door of my house.

During this little party,
I got tired and
 wished I had another hobby,
or a quilting machine
or money to have them all quilted.

Can you say Pity Party?

Then I looked around...

How lucky am I to have such a beautiful place to have a Pity Party?
I love the quiet of the afternoon.
Life is Good.

True Confessions

I went to my quilt meeting this afternoon.

Someone told me that I can't sew with serger thread.
Why?
It isn't good for my machine.
But it is okay for my serger?

Well, here is my true confession.
I sew with serger thread.
I have for years, and my machine seems to be okay with it.

And while I'm at it,
I don't draw a diagonal lines on my 1 1/2 inch squares.
I use a folded paper.

It is more accurate.

And here is one more,
I wasn't going to use novelty prints in my scrap quilt,
but I changed my mind.
I like them.

As for my quilt group,
They make beautiful quilts.

I love them.

But then, any quilt is a good quilt.

While at the Malad Welsh Festival

-Malad Idaho-

I found some cool things.

Old glass and wood.

I love this machine.
I always wonder if my great grandmothers had one.

I love this quilt.
I think it was old squares finished with new fabric.
It made me think of my grandmothers garden.

This one made me smile.

And I want to make this one.

Good to be Home

I finished this cross stitch.  I'm looking forward to visiting the Redwoods this Summer with my kids.  I was home this weeke...
