Hands, Hands, Hands

Sometimes I start a project
without seeing how it will end.

Here is one of those projects.

These are hand prints from my little students.

While I was sewing these on,
I knew what to do next.
But I'm still not sure about the end.

Will let you know.

Zipper Finished

We took a little trip to Hailey Idaho
and stopped at Salli's Back Porch Fabric the other day.

I love this little quilt.

I found some time to put in the zipper.

I will not tell a lie,
I watched a couple of you tube videos.

It worked out fine.
I need some white hooks and eyes.

I was trying for a better photo than last week.

Almost There

I had a day off yesterday,
and I needed a day off.
So I spent some time sewing.

I hope I don't mess it up when I'm sewing it together.

This is my idea of decorating for Valentines Day.

Today, I wanted to put the skirt on the dress.
It took some time to set in the pockets,
but in the end, they look great.

When in doubt,
P I N !

I realize this looks horrible,
but I think it will look better on my daughter
than on the wall.

I sure hope so!

Next week....the zipper
and maybe the hem.

I'm thinking I can pull both of them off.

One Step at a Time

I have been working on the wedding dress.
Even though I made a mock bodice,
I still had considerable adjusting to do.

I made the lining first, so it worked out fine.
I find, that if I just follow the basics, things tend to fall into place.
I was taught well many years ago.

The sleeve worked out nicely.

And this is what the inside looks like.

Next, the skirt.
She wants pockets, so pockets will be first.

Then attaching it to the bodice.

The zipper will follow.

We have not discussed length yet, but that will come up soon.

One step at a time.

Good to be Home

I finished this cross stitch.  I'm looking forward to visiting the Redwoods this Summer with my kids.  I was home this weeke...
