A Summer Dress

I did not start sewing quilts until after many, many years of sewing clothing.
But now, the very thought of constructing a dress scares me to death.
You know, those
 5/8th GIANT seams,
Zippers, Gathers, Sleeves.

But I had this fabric and my little grand daughter loves green and blue.
So I gave it a try.

It went together without a hitch,
even the zipper.
Then I decided it needed something.

Pockets.
She does love them.

Two Scrappy Quilts

I needed a scrappy twin quilt.
It is a gift for a 12 year old boy.
I like this.....I think???
I want to start quilting it this week.

I finished this scrappy quilt.
I started it last summer.
It just takes me a long time to finish a quilt from first thought to final knot.

It is also 100% scrappy.
I grew to love it as I quilted it.

I Thought I Didn't Do Anything

I really feel like I didn't do anything last week.
However, looking back, I did do somethings.
I must be feeling better.

I quilted this and sent it off.

I like the way it turned out.

I had this cut out already, so I put it together.

I couldn't resist this magazine.
My granddaughter loves bugs.

I cut out part of a quilt and sewed the squares together, but I needed to buy background fabric.
Since I have used my fabric budget, at least once this month already,
I decided to cut out another quilt, and look what happened.

When I was in Montana,
The man at the quilt store gave me this tape.
I love it because the ruler never slips.
However, it doesn't slip, so when I dropped something on the ground
and went to get it, while pushing the ruler, it snapped in two.

Lucky for me, I have a new one, so I will be cutting again!

Road Trip

We have been on the road, but first,
I finished this beach quilt.
Love it.

We drove to Canada on I-15.
Driving through Montana is beautiful,
We decided to stop at one quilt store.

Let me tell, you, when we got off the freeway, the signs lead us to a residential area on non- paved roads.
I was not sure what we would find.
But we found PM Quilts
My husband and I both enjoyed visiting with the owners, a husband and wife.
They were so nice and he is passionate about his quilting.
Here is one of his.

I always find inspiration in the colors I see.

Some sights in Banff National Park

I love these rocks, left on the prairie  by a glacier.
And the sky is enchanting.

I love grain elevators.
No idea why.

And of course I am inspired by my sweet granddaughters.

They are so full of life and love.

Good to be Home

I finished this cross stitch.  I'm looking forward to visiting the Redwoods this Summer with my kids.  I was home this weeke...
