Confessions of an addicted cross stitcher

When my kids were little I was so addicted to cross stitch.
It was something I could do while I was with them.

I did stamped and counted.

I found this in some stuff my mom gave me.
I started it about a year ago.
It has been with me on all my trips this year.
I have been outlining it for the last two months.

It is finished.
I am seriously looking for another cross stitch project.
I should have never started.

I put the final border on this quilt.
I have to admit, that I have been happy to work on it.
I want to get some pink -really pink- minky
and finish it.

I also quilted this baby quilt this week.
When I work on this thing,
I think it is beyond ugly,
but when I see it in a picture,
it looks okay.

At any rate, I realized that the only way to finish it
is with some blue.
I only had a couple of inches of this blue,
really?  I have boat load of the wrong color blue
so I ordered a piece of just the right color.

One step at a Time

I put this together yesterday.
I haven't decided on the boarder,
but I am leaning toward the black and pink print.

I also had a sit down with my friend,
Dixie about how to put together some
hand made octagon blocks.
She was so helpful.
It was a good visit.

Brighten Your Day

I struggle with winter.

I was pretty happy to find this little spot of color this afternoon.

I started this little project last week.
The fabric was given to me by the wife of my nephew.
Her mother had passed away and she had come home with this fabric.

I can't tell a lie.
I look at this fabric and think it is pretty ugly.
And it is old.
However, when I sew with it, it makes me happy.

I am working on a quilt to send back to this girl.
She liked the fabric and it will always remind her of her mother.

By the way, the pink dinosaurs and alligators are velvety stuff.
I have to use a cloth on top of it to even press it.

Fabric Stores.

We made a quick trip to California to visit my parents after Christmas.

I love walking into my moms house and finding my projects.
Bless her heart.
She has taken many a project off  my hands.
I made this for her a few years ago.

We took a day and went to San Francisco.

Has anyone else ever been to Britex Fabric?
It is downtown.
I had heard that they had moved across the street and I really wanted to visit.

And I did.

Yes, they moved the button wall.
It is still an amazing site.

It was a fun trip.

The Right Color

I took this to my sewing room to make a pillow. I was really thinking of purple and beige. I found a green while looking for pur...
