Beehive

I said that I was afraid of week three, well it was actually week five. The beehive was easy. The stem was difficult. You have to cut 1/2 inch strips and then put them through the tool that makes them like binding.

Then you pin or glue it on the fabric and  sew it down. It is hard for me. Also, the buds and leaves for this section are too tiny for me to use Lori Holts applique method. They will be Heat and Bonded to the quilt. I've come too far to ruin it now.  I didn't finish it, but I tried. Hopefully I'll get it done tomorrow.

I also finished this quilt. I want to wash it to get out the embroidery markings. I hope the recipient of this quilt enjoys it.

I'm kinda at a loss for what to cross stitch next, but I still want to stitch. I started  working on this. It came from my mom's collection of never opened kits. It's interesting to work on. Very slow going, but I'm still need to cross so I will keep working on it.

I love having time to work on these projects.

Keep sewing....
Winter progress warms you up on a cold day....
