There's More

I purchased this pattern ( Cluck, Cluck, Sew) a few years ago and promised myself I would make a scrappy version. I did buy the background fabric. I wanted something darker because i think it is warmer and I like the contrast. I had just enough.

I promised myself that after I finished this project that I would start some Barbie dresses for my granddaughter, Clara. She told me her dolls needed some dresses.

First I just want to say how hard it was to find a pattern for a dress.  I ended up buying one on Etsy.

I started with this gold fabric.

Why?  Why did I have this stuff and why did I think it would work?

Changes were made.

I finished it. You would think that I would have thrown it out, the fabric and the ancient gold thread that I used 30 years ago for a Christmas dress for Callie, but I kept them both.

I am working on sandwiching some of the quilts I have completed. I found a really good deal on 80/20 batting and ordered a back for the beast quilt. I will have to get out the frame for it. I'm pretty sure I'll have to buy a couple of boards that are longer than what I have now.

It's all a process. And it's a process I enjoy.

I started this last year and.put it away. I don't remember why, just that I was frustrated. I pulled it out and have loved working on it. I love the Aida cloth and the colors. Not sure what the frustration was about, but it's all part of the process.

Late Summer Sewing....
Always keep a project near by....
Enjoy the journey..,.
