Frozen Journey

My journey to make these two Frozen dresses is done!!!!
I finished the capes.

I have to admit that I forgot how little the selves could be.
And how hard it is to line up a zipper.

But it all comes back.
Merry Christmas

Waiting

I have moved things around this year.
I really thought I would leave the bowling pin Santas in the box this year,
but I missed them.

I found the perfect place for them.
They look happy here.

I went to work on the dress.
I was only going to put the zipper in,
but couldn't stop.
Well, except when my machine stopped.

Wes found the problem right away,
but we had to order a part.
Waiting, waiting, waiting, waiting.......

Following the Directions

Well, once I looked at the directions,
I was like, "Oh yeah, I can see that."

So, I think I will continue.
The directions say to glue down the applique,
but, since I love to sew it down,
I will disregard that direction.

If at first you don't succeed, Look at the Directions

In my enthusiasm to get started on this dress
I  didn't even look at follow directions.

So, I will start over.
But this little applique sure turned out cute.

Like Minds

We fix sewing machines and I have enjoyed the notes on machines this week.
They have said things like,
Please get this back to me as fast a possible,
I have Christmas projects to work on.

We have meet some talented people this week.
Check out this etsy shop

I made this because I wanted to know how to do this boarder.
I am happy to say it was a piece of cake.

I found out my grand-kids will be here the week after Christmas.
I think I will make these dresses for a little dress up/play time.

There is a boat load of applique on them.
I have decided it will be like making a wearable quilt.
I am happy sad to say, I will have to buy fabric.
I mean, who doesn't want to visit a fabric store?

We had a snowday yesterday!!!
We really didn't have that much snow,
but we did have a lot of icy roads.

this one still needs some work.

At my house, snowdays are Sewdays.

I was happy to get this library bag done.
I have enough fabric to make all my kids a library bag,
but I think I will wait for them to have a family first.

Last week, I made pillowcases to go with quilts.

With this, I am done with Christmas sewing.

Zoo Quilts and Rice Bags

I finished the zoo quilts.
I hate to apologize for the glare of the sun,
so I won't.

I love both of these, but I do have a up-side-down giraffe here.

I was asked to make rice bags to go in Christmas bags for elderly women in our church.
I could not help myself,
I know they will love these 30's reproductions.

New Quilt

I got this quilt put up last night.
I can't wait to start....I already have...
but I haven't decided what to do with the white.

I hope I figure it out by the time I get there.

Finishing Up

I have decided that there will be no more quilt tops
until I finish up some quilts.

Project #1
Done

I put a boarder on this one.

And I have started the zoo quilts.

I hope to have them finished for Christmas.

Autumn's Here

I need to take some pictures of quilts,
but humor me for a few seconds.

I scored at the Farmers Market today.

We finally took off the 'indoor-outdoor' carpet on the steps.
Then we painted them with restore.
Long story short;
My front porch looks much better.

The signs of fall are everywhere.
Such a pretty time of year.

Off the Floor

I put this quilt together.
Yes, it needs a border.
Yes, after 3 quilts with these fabrics,
I didn't have enough for a border.
Yes, I found some on-line.

And yes, I like it.

Fall Quilt

I wanted to share this with you.
I have decided to give this quilt away.
It has been used and washed.
It is 46 x 46
and has a scrappy back.
If you are interested, please leave a comment.

I will pick it's new home from those interested
 on facebook and here
 on Thursday after 5pm.

New Project

I had been looking for a pattern to use some Amy Butler fabrics on.

I found one on Pinterest and decided to give it a try.
Of course, I just used the picture, so I had to start by drawing it out.
From there, I have been slowly deciding what to do next.

I found my self alone on Thursday, so I layed it out on the floor...
still wishing for a design wall.

I left it on the floor for a couple of days,
and then yesterday, I went to work on it.
It took twice as long with the sashings,
but I knocked it out.

Now for the boarders.
It is really much cuter than this picture of it on my basement floor.
It is bright and cheerful....like my daughter, who it will belong to.

Finish one and Start a new one

I finished this!
I was sick of it,
so I feel really happy.

I feel that part of the problem was the amount of quilting.
It looks like more than I planed.

I thought I would quickly put this one together.
WRONG!
I should of got out the frames or taped it to the floor.
I  made a mess,

but I got it up.

Can't wait to have it finished.

Summer Colors

I love the colors of these flowers.
They would be beautiful in a quilt.

Blackberries.
What can I say?
They turn my fingers purple.

And last of all, weeds.
I love these weeds.
I love seeing them on the side of the road.
Love seeing them out my window.
I'm sure if I tried to grow them,
they wouldn't make it.

Quilt Show

My youngest son was getting ready to go to college
and wanted an apron.
I couldn't help but put a kitty on it.

When I dropped him off at school,
I stopped and looked at quilts at the Springville Museum.
They have a beautiful show.

I love this show, because there are hand quilted quilts there.

I am very interested in Hawaiian quilts.

This dog was so cute.

I went with my daughter,
who is checking out the hand quilting on this beauty,

and my daughter in law, who figured out this pattern.

Need I say it?
I love this color.

Another hand quilted wonder.

Everything about this quilt made it 3-D.
The quilting was amazing
and these flowers were adorable.

Until next year.

Too Cute

I decided last week that I would make a little quilt for my grandson.
I started with this and I was energized by the cuteness of this truck.

So I made some more......
I mean, even the roads are cute.

 I couldn't help myself, so I finished.

I have a back for it, but I haven't decided whether to hand quilt or machine quilt.

Carried Away

I may have gotten carried away,
but the little quilt grew

and multiplied.

I thought they would look cute on bunk beds.
There is a reason they call them "Quick Quilts:

What I do with a Panel

I bought two panels this summer.

I cut the dogs up and made these table runners.
--yes, I picked out two of them and turned them around--

Then I cut up another panel.
I found this quilt in a magazine and had a vision.

Here is is, and it is a work in progress.

Not only that, but I am going to make another one.

The Right Color

I took this to my sewing room to make a pillow. I was really thinking of purple and beige. I found a green while looking for pur...
