The Story of a Quilt
Every quilt has a story and I would love to know the story of this one. I helped my friend Dixie baste this quilt. A lady in our quilt group, received this from a friend of hers, who found it while cleaning out her mother-in-laws house. This women didn't want it, so our friend took it.
Dixie wanted to quilt it.
As we were working on it we started talking about the fabrics. Some of them look like they came from clothing. There is a purple one that looks like it came from the 30's, but some of the others seem much older.
It is all hand sewn and it is about 90 x 90.
We will never know the story of the quilt. Dixie hopes that after it is quilted that maybe one of this women grandchildren will want it. It is definitely part of their family history.
