Busy Week

I have had such a busy week.  First, Project 4 and I went to a car show .

Then the owner of Project 1 arrived.

And although he is too far away to go see, I have enjoyed seeing his pictures.

Then I went back to work.  Can't wait for the students to come.

We also took one of my sons to college.  Oddly enough, we ran into the new owners of Project 3.

Maybe some sewing this week.

Project 4

This is project 4.
She picked out this pattern and fabric.
I was happy it fit her without much tweaking.

Post Office Day

Project 3

These place mats are an over due wedding present.
I never get tired of sewing Halloween projects, which is interesting, because I am not a big fan of Halloween.

Project 4 is a dress for my daughter.  She decided to come home for the weekend, so I left hers to be tweaked.  I will finish it later today.
I made it to the post office and trust me, my wallet felt the pinch.

Pink and Green

I finally finished this.  This is the first quilt I made after I had surgery last summer.
I didn't realize how hard it was going to be cut it out.
Therefor, it has many mistakes in it.
I am glad it is done.

I can't believe it, but I only have 3 tops that need to be quilted.
I wonder how it would be to get caught up.

County Fair

Look what Dixie won at the fair!
I love hers, however, I am not sure if I am ever going to like  mine.
My quilts at the fair got blue ribbons, but after winning a big, purple Best of Show,
it just isn't the same.  Maybe next year.

Mailing Goals

After a couple of weeks of hanging with my family, I came home with 1 goal in mind.
I have 4 projects that need to be mailed.
So I set a date of Friday the 16th to go to the Post Office.

Project 1

I quilted and binded this baby quilt.
I think I like it.

Project 2

I also have this tree skirt done and ready to mail.
I am also trying to finish my pink and green quilt, but it is staying here.

So with 1 week to go, I have 2 more projects.

Colors of the Earth

So while in Montana, we went to Glacier National Park.
I was fascinated with the colors of the earth.

I love the almost red centers to these flowers.
The contrast with the yellow is beautiful.

While on a hike, we were surrounded by this green.
The different shades of  brown in the rocks of the stream are amazing.

Heaven knows I have been obsessed with this color blue we found at the waterfall.
But notice how it works so well with the other colors around it.

I was struck by the fact that white is an earth tone.
As well as the pink in this Indian Paint Brush.

And the other thought I had in the park is this one from the Book of Mormon

 Believe in God; believe that he is, and that he created all things, both in heaven and in earth;

Eureka Montana Quilt Show

I went to a fun quilt show in Eureka Montana this weekend.

As you can see, it was an outdoor quilt show.

There were over 400 quilts.

The weather was fabulous.

But my favorite part was being surrounded by quilters.
I love that they had their cameras.
I loved the sounds that they made.
I love that they came with their friends.
There is nothing like spending the day with quilters.

One more Quilt Show

Here are the last of the Quilt Show pictures.

I may not love these colors, but I love the variety of blocks.

Callie loved this one.  She does have a thing for penguins.

I love quilts with embroidery in them.
Two of my favorite things.

This was a 50th wedding anniversary quilt.
I love the  old fabrics.

I am always trying to think of quilt to make for my dad.
This is it.
They found all of these at antique stores.
I am thinking I should look on e-bay.

I couldn't help but think of Miz Lizzie when I saw this one.
They were 6 inch fans.

This is the coolest thing.
I couldn't stop looking at it
Very cool.
